About ToolNeighbor
ToolNeighbor helps Korean-American families on Chicago's north shore find kids activities in one place. The core footprint is the six cities of Northbrook, Glenview, Deerfield, Skokie, Morton Grove, and Park Ridge, but we also index the nearby destinations that these families actually drive to — the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview, downtown museums, and Korean-run weekend and heritage-school programs. The goal is to make sure parents who are still learning English don't miss programs that fit their kids.
How it works
Each institution's public schedule / event page is re-synced weekly. English originals are kept as-is, and Korean translations produced by the Gemini model are stored in a separate column. Registration and payment always happen on the official provider site — ToolNeighbor does not handle registrations, take commissions, or resell anything.
Data sources
Active Network, WebTrac, Communico, BiblioCommons, the Drupal library_calendar module, and iCal feeds — all from the institutions' own public systems. Copyright on program copy stays with the originating institution; we respect robots policies and terms of use and will remove or adjust any row on request.
Operator
ToolNeighbor is run by a Korean-American resident of Illinois as a community contribution. Reach us at contact@mytoolneighbor.com.
Disclaimer
Information is accurate as of last sync and can change. Cancellations, refunds, and safety matters are governed by each institution's own policies; ToolNeighbor accepts no liability for any of them. See Terms of Service for full detail.
